Does anyone know if the headliner inside the nose of the U300 (U280) is easily removable? I ordered a new spotlight with intent to have Foretravel install it when I'm in Nacogdoches next month for my long awaited windshield replacement. I was looking at the headliner and it sorta looks like it's removable, which would simplify spotlight installation I think.
Scott,
I'm pretty sure it's removable but... The thin foam that gives the vinyl that squishy feel deteriorates over time and exposes a god awful super fine yellow powder when the vinyl is removed. If you do it have a good shop vac at hand and cover everything you value.

Maybe that's exactly what I needed to know. I'll be at Foretravel next month and I'll have them replace the spotlight. They have a big roll around ladder so they won't risk sliding off the slippery slope nose of my coach... I really miss my spotlight which died a while ago. :(
One of the POs took our spot off for some darn reason, I miss it also.
You can order one brand new from the internet for a little over $200 now. I remember checking a few years ago and the same spotlight was about $600 I think? ...gasp! ...I think when LED spotlights came on the scene the price of the halogen spotlights went down. I'm very unimpressed with LED lights based on all my experiences with them so far. I'll happily pay 1/3 as much now for a far superior halogen spotlight. :)
Mike, silly question but if you never had it how do you miss it?? Did the Airstream have one? I do not recollect ever seeing one on that make, but may be wrong

Both my Airstreams had them, the nice (ICC?) marine chrome ones with the controls at low left hand access. Our coach control is stupid: way up high, impossible to toggle while driving in fog, which I used a lot with just the driving lights, no headlights.
