Title: Propane gas fitting on 97 270
Post by: George and Steph on December 30, 2017, 05:49:39 pm
We are unexpectedly marooned at home for med testing and procedures.  I want to use an extend a stay for our propane.  (House is rented)

When I looked at the system I noted a fitting I am not familiar with and have attached a picture.

1.  Is the small nut covering a port I can use without the extend a stay?

2.  Can I remove this fitting from the valve and replace with an extend a stay.

3.  For those in my year group...will I need an adapter?  The Camco picture showed a funnel shaped female end but the actual fitting is not.

Thanks!

George,
The vent with the red ring around it is a fill indicator and must stay in place.
If you are talking about the 1/4" pipe plug in the "T" then you may be able to tap into your system there with an Extend-a-stay.

Yes Mike I was looking at the 1/4 fitting.  Saw that plug and thought something must have gone there in the past as there doesn't seem to be a good reason to have it.

Dave that fitting is for refilling the little green bottles from the 20/30.  Got one.  Thanks.

George,

I have seen that used to hook up a fire pit, BBQ grill, and an external tank to back feed into your system.
