Title: Rear RTU not working.
Post by: Moby on December 30, 2017, 07:22:13 pm
Just lost all functions in bedroom RTU - Coleman AC with heat strip.  No fan, no heat, no love.
Physically checked breaker - not tripped
Check for voltage to the unit, has zero.

I'm planning to check for voltage at the breaker later (along with tight connection at the breaker) and if need be, check continuity through the wires.  Tie the two ends together at the ceiling (yes, power off) and then check for breaks at the power box.  After that I'd be stumped.
Any suggestions for what to check?  I am NOT an AC guy, but figure no power = no work.

Move a breaker from something your not using, if cycling the breaker does not work. Mine are all 20 amp.

Check the connections at the wire nuts where the coach wiring enters the air conditioner. I had one melt down there.

It might be the only thing wired to one leg of your 50Amp service.

Success!

What I also discovered between my last post and now was that the left side of the coach had no power.  At first I thought it was the GFCI in the bathroom, but it was not.  Then noticed that I had no incoming power indicated, so, out to the power plug where my surge protector was indicating no power on one leg.
Was a bad breaker and got switched out.  All is good now.
  Thanks for the suggestions.
