Title: 72" basement door struts 1997 U295
Post by: Jack Lewis on January 15, 2018, 09:34:16 pm
I ordered 4 replacement struts for the 72" basement doors from Foretravel.  They shipped 150#, 20" struts, the ones on there were 18 1/2, possibly after market.  My question is this, is there such thing as a tool to compress them this 1 1/2 inches?  If so what is it?

craneman, you mean something as simple as just a Harbor Freight ratchet strap tie down to compress?  Can it be that easy, I will try tomorrow.  Thank you

The cheap 1" yellow one will get about 4 done before wearing the material.
