Title: TV Install
Post by: jor on January 20, 2018, 10:21:27 am
Our 34' had a 26" LCD mounted up front in cut down box. It was a pretty well done mod but the TV was old and hung down too far. After hitting my head on it one too many times, I decided to change it. I removed the box and found a nice little set that fits just about perfectly in the hole. We ended up with a larger screen (28") with much smaller overall dimensions. The back also had an older LCD which I removed. For now, we're using that space as a library but I may remove that box too.

John,

Do you remember the brand name of the fan in your bedroom picture?

Thanks,

Trent

Jeff, They do swivel left and right and up and down.

I mounted ours on two nice pieces of cherry that have an 8"x3"x3/8" steel bar glued into a backside recess.  Wires come out to a power plug on each fan.  A Y shaped cable plugs into the 12v accessory socket (formerly know as a cigarette lighter) and into either or both fans. On our dash one is wired and fused for 30 amps.  This lets us use the fans for defrosting the windshield or cooling in the summer. Works great.  And when the MCD shade comes down they can store between the windshield and shade

Jor,

Like what you did with the bedroom box.  Removing it may be more trouble that it's worth.  I made a plastic door hinged at the top with a magnet latch at the bottom similar to what was above the front windshield.  Not too practical though as I have to hold it open to put something inside or take it out.  Forward acceleration is not likely to cause anything to fall out with the piece of wood at the bottom.
