Maybe someone has a diagram or picture of the wiring on the back of the cruise control switches (2) in the dash. I was changing my PE switch on parking brake and the male spade connectors being old were either loose or broke while my hand was back there on several components I replaced the terminal ends but do not know which of the two out of three wires go on each switch. the third is the hot wire. picture is of of another FT but not the same color coded wires just for reference. Thank in advance
Sorry you haven't received any answers to your question. Probably because we don't have many examples of your model coach on the Forum, and we simply don't know the answer. You can try repeating your question (in this same thread), so it stays at the "top" of the recent post list. Perhaps you will get lucky and another '85 ORED owner will see it and reply.
You might post a photo of your dash showing the switches. This would help other GV owners to determine if their setup is similar.
OR, you could try a "trial and error" approach. If you know where the hot lead goes, then you only have 3 wires to figure out, right? What is that...nine different possible combinations? I doubt it would hurt anything to keep trying until you luck into the proper wire connection solution.
OR, try searching with Google to see if you can find a wiring diagram online. I don't know what your dash switches look like, or I would help you search. I use the "image" search for problems like this. I search for a term like (for instance) "1985 cruise control dash switch". Then I scan through the images to see if I can find what I'm looking for. Once you find a image, it will often lead you to a web site with more info.
Sorry I can't be more help.
I'll see what data I have. Tues afternoon.
Trial & error causes smoke and blown fuses.....and don't want to get on freeway and have a stuck cruise control
Contact James Holder at Tennessee RV, he may be able to help you.
This is the dash and the two switches I need color and placement of wires
Like they said above Call James Holder at Tennessee RV. He has a coach like yours and more than likely can help you.
My 87/88 has stalk mounted switches to the Cruise black box over the radio. Sorry cant help.
I do know that the circuit has some leads going to the brake treadle for disconnect, and probably come back up to a relay controlling the black box.
Craneman has an ftx I think so maybe he could help
You can send James a private message as he is a member here on the forum. www.foreforums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=704
Mike
My cruise is on the turn indicator lever similar to the cars of that era.
I tried to call him twice today I will try a message and I did talk to Craneman. Thanks
That is how our 84 ored was, but I let the books go with the coach when we sold it.
