Title: Hells Canyon Roads
Post by: KenKetch on March 15, 2018, 01:17:11 am
We are planning a trip to Oregon and Washington in September. Has any Foretraveler driven the Hells Canyon Senic Byway I84 > 86 > 39 > 82 > I84  staying at the Wallowa Lake State Park? About 35 years ago I drove it in my FMC but I don't remember it well enough to determine if we should try it with our U320 being 8" wider than the FMC.

We where up in that area a couple of years ago, didn't have any issues with a 40' towing a Jeep.

That's our ex-neck of the woods, beautiful country! Not stayed at Wallowa S.P., but stayed at a very nice Ponderosa S.P. around McCall, Idaho. I'd suggest, if you've not got one, a  Mountain Directory for Truckers, RV, and Motorhome Drivers (http://www.mountaindirectory.com)    They are available in all formats. Happy trails!

Bruce, thank you for your response. I have done more research and with your comment we plan to try the route.

Biggest deal is curves and hills, slow down enjoy the ride. With a 36 and 450hp no problem 👍😎

Sometime this year they are supposed to start road construction at Minam Canyon to straighten out some of the curves, anyway it's a very beautiful drive.
