Title: Auto gen stsrt
Post by: Caflashbob on March 16, 2018, 10:13:51 pm
Our coach never had the oem stock gen wizard in it when we got it 6 years ago.

Purchased a Me-AGSN remote auto gen start.

My question was has anyone wired in the thermistor temp monitoring part?

My guru buddy has never installed one.  Tosses them.

I like the idea of leaving the dometic control panel on using 12 volt and of course some power is being consumed by the auto start.  How important is that?

When the gen starts a delay is built in.  How hard is the a/c start after the delay kicks in?

Is the a/c compressor start on a 2 minute delay from a cold start?

Not our normal camping use.  Just planning for a possible future use by us or a future user.

I did install the temp sensor and have tested it and used it a couple of times.  It works fine.  I haven't had any problems with the AC hard starting or starting too soon.  Yes, there's a delay built into the AC.  I don't know exactly how long it is but it seems adequate.  I see no reason not to install it and at least have the option available.

I installed my ME-AGSN under the dash.  I ran the temp sensor wire through the street side transmission control/switch panel to behind the drivers chair. That gets it close to where my Dometic thermostat is so that the temp readings are fairly well in sync.

Anyone know where the optional gen wizard would have been installed if ordered on a late 90's coach?  More important is was there a dedicated wire run in the coach for such a system whether speced or not and if so where are the wires?
