Title: Water Filter Question
Post by: Super8mm on March 17, 2018, 02:29:20 pm
After a freeze popped one of my water filter cans I am going to replace the dual filter setup but when I looked to make sure I get one with the correct fittings I had a question arise.

This shows the outlet side going to the coach's system I think.

But the other side has this plug in it.  Does this plug get removed and a hose attached to this side?

Looks like a generic filter setup with common hose thread connections on both ends.  You'd probably use a 90 degree adapter to get at the plugged connection.  That's most likely not factory installed, just added on by one of the prior owners.  You could replace it with most any kind of filter unit that meets your needs.  Search this Forum for "fresh water filtration" threads to get some ideas.

Thanks Chuck, that is what I had a hard time seeing as it is so close to the back wall and I have never seen a filter that you input water and exit water from the same hole.

I did learn that when you ask someone to make sure the heat is on when they take a coach out to the parking lot I guess you need to make sure you say furnace, the heat strips wont heat the water bays.  It was a bit cold in SE Texas last January and the outside filter went pop goes the weasel.

The "desert campers" that frequent the arid SW states often have to deal with "bad" water.  Here is a post with one filtering solution:

Thanks, I saw another thread where Roger was talking about it but had not gotten that far down yet.  You know us Texans we talk slow and read slow "LOL"
