Converter on RV went out so no amber turn signal lights on dingy. Replaced converter on RV, now turn signals work on dingy, problem now with RV. Now, taillights flicker when lights are on and either turn Sig is used. With RV lights out, no flicker when turn Sig is used. Dingy lights are all fine, issue now only on FT.
Probably a bad ground and the turn signals are backfeeding through the lights.
If you have your tow vehicle wired to have amber turn signals and red brake lights then you should not need to have a taillight converter. as the converter converts foreign wiring to American wiring.
Thank you Red Tractor, I think you are on to something and I hope you are right. The tech that wired the Lexus thought like craneman it is a bad ground or a bad new converter. Tomorrow I will take the taillight converter out of the system and see what that does? I did not know the rv already had a wired in taillight converter when I had the Lexus wired. I will up date the post Sunday night.
Red Tractor, thanks for the input. I ran short of time today to try it with out the converter, I am sure it would of worked, I just installed another brand converter, Brite-Lite from Roadmaster. My tech believes the other replacement was defective, as he thought it should have worked. I also pull a utility trailer that will need the converter. I bought this from Camping World, put it in, and all is fine. Brite Lite Converter - Roadmaster 732 - Towing Accessories - Camping World (http://www.campingworld.com/brite-lite-converter)
I am not sure the old one, that for sure was defective was factory original or not. This Brite-Lite at least matched the wiring perfectly.
