Title: Silver leaf VMS
Post by: Chris m lang on March 22, 2018, 09:57:13 am
Can anyone suggest a silver leaf monitoring system-- I am computer challenged and after looking at different products I am more confused. I checked the Tech Talk forum and didn't see anything but I may have searched the wrong thing. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks Chris

Chris,
Please look at VMSpc (Silverleaf) Kits 2017 Year End Sale (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=32652.0)
I am putting together kits, ready to install, for Forum members who are looknig for an integrated solution. You can go find an appropriate PC, buy the hardware from Silverleaf, down load the software and figure out how to make your own display or let me do the hard part.
I am a Silverleaf dealer and provide support for the systems I sell. These systems use a robust Windows 10 ASUS tablet PC, the Silverleaf hardware, all of the cables and come completely configured for your coach with ready to use displays, all of the mounting hardware you well meed and instructions. I also install remote support software so if you need some help I can connect to your PC any where you are as long as you have an internet connection.
It all comes in a box, USPS Express 2 day insured mail.
I also make much more sophistocated systems for your coach that will us much higher end Intel NUC pcs, Samsung or Apple tablets as wireless displays, an internal secure coach network and more. These aren't for anyone but they are just what some might want. Bigger, better, faster sort-of-thing.
Send me an email and I will see what can do for you.

You can buy the JIB and cable from these guys. It comes with no help and no support. You can buy them from Silverleaf and get support. You can buy them from me somewhere inbetween in price and get support from me, screens you can use and remote support if you need it.

I have bought 3 jibs at Rvupgrades [3 coaches with cat., dd., and cummins engines] and always got excellent support from Art and other techs at Silverleaf Electronics. They have never asked me where I bought the jibs.

Help from Roger is a GOOD thing - the SIlverleaf screen is "Generic" based on your engine model and what Silverleaf provides - customization is possible by an individual if you are patient and technically oriented , but easier to get someone with experience to do it if you do not like messing with technology.
My .02.
Would not be without my Silverleaf - I would have used Roger to customize if I had known he was in the business back when I added mine
I never look at my dash panel except to glance at the air pressures from time to time....

Is the Silverleaf useable and beneficial for a 1997 U270 (Cummins C8.3 engine and Allison MD3060R transmission)?
Thank you.

No support needed it seems to be pretty basic. I only paid for the cable. I think it was $29.00 from Silverleaf.

Nope. Mechanical engine. I gotta say that is one thing I really miss. On the other hand, I probably spend more time actually looking where I'm going instead of constantly monitoring. jor

Data interface JIB and data cable and a USB cable are about $400 from Silverleaf. The cable does nothing without the interface.
I got the rest of it free. Wouldn't work without that. I just want people to know that it is simple if they want to do it cheaper and there is plenty of help on the forum. I have to do things cheaply due to a DV budget.

Silverleaf is in our future after some necessary other stuff is done... and when we jump in, we'll be hitting up Roger & Susan for a set up that will work for us. I've always appreciated their input on the forums.

Silver leaf saved the day for us when our fan controller failed. I could see the intake temp rising before the water temp did and knew something was wrong. A call to the factory told me how to unplug the controller setting the fans on high speed default so we could continue the trip. Also the accurate voltage readout helped when we had an overcharging situation.
