Title: Surge Guard 40240 vs 35550:
Post by: Chad and Judy on March 30, 2018, 02:36:47 pm
Have a failing Surge Guard 40240;  the typical symptoms of chattering-contacts etc. Debating the replacement unit between another 40240 (the failing unit is "OEM" on a '98 coach) and their newer, more 'digital' 35550. Any thoughts, previous-experience solicited! Thanks in advance!

Don't know about the 40240, but the 35550 remote has the ability to change the info screens with the toggle lever.

Chad, why not use Progressive Industries EMS protector?  Many more use this model, and with a receipt they have a life time warranty, so you would not be facing what to (re) buy.
35550 looks like their older model, maybe now with a remote panel.  I never liked this model with its 'open' wiring connections, which looks like a safety hazard.

X2, even though the company has changed hands, they still make the best, and after one has had a near meltdown (like we did), one tends to look for "The Best"!  ^.^d
