Coach achieves ride height appropriately. Upon RAISE, however, driver side rises but passenger doesn't. I can lower and raise front independently but not in RAISE. DUMP appears to work normally and does Travel mode.
Ideas?
It sounds like front raise or right side raise sends12 volts to the right front raise solenod. So it works. But the raise button for the whole coach is powering all raise solenoids except the right front solenoid.
The same wire is used to power the right front raise solenoid using any of the raise buttons so you know that circuit and solenoid valve is working.
IF that is the case you might have a computer problem.
You might try a reboot of the computer to see if you can clear the problem.
How to reboot?
To reboot,
Disconnect the power from the computer then reconnect.
I think ground has to be connected when power is removed or connected.
Should be some directions with the schematic in side the computer cover.
If you can't find any directions check with HWH.
Thanks John. Will advise.
You might have a bad raise solenoid or the coil might be bad. You can also check in the control box to see if there is a blown fuse.
Ditto.....had same problem with right rear dropping. Checked for leaks until blue in the face. They finally tested the coils and they were failing. Let them cool and they would work for a while. They told me that they were testing out a about 26 ohms and should be around 5? Just old and tired I guess. Don't quote me on what a new one should test out at. I'm just quoting a tech at FOT and sometimes my hearing ain't so great. Still need to replaced a few but they got me on down the road with replacing 2.
Randy,
You could swap the raise solenoids to see if the problem moves over. But your description of the problem indicates that the right front raise solenoid works with two of the three ways to energize it?
Yes, in manual mode all bags can be raised and lowered. It's only in RAISE where right side bags fail to raise. More troubleshooting Saturday including swapping out a rebuilt controller. Stay tuned.
The final chapter...right rear solenoid and control board. Here's how it went down.
Thinking a control board might be the issue I located a known good rebuilt control board. Swapped it for the original...same problem...right side failed to raise. Put original control board back in and kept checking. It turns out the front bag was trying to raise...it just couldn't overcome the extra weight of the right rear bag which was not raising. Checked and passenger rear raise solenoid not working. Replaced it...BUT with original board in place it would still not raise. Once again substituted known good board and everything worked.
So, not sure raise solenoid caused board to go or vice versa but it took both, not either individually to solve the problem. At least the delay in locating a board or having our board rebuilt was avoided.
