Title: Lift Pump
Post by: Tom Endres on April 30, 2018, 04:43:59 pm
Has anyone purchased or had a Federal-Mongal lift pump install on their Cummins engine. It is half the price of a Cummins lift pump. You know what they say "you get what you pay for". Just wondering of it's quality before I purchase?

On your '02 model coach, is the lift pump mechanical or electric?

If electric, I have no knowledge.

If it is a mechanical pump mounted on the side of the block, then I can tell you they are all made in China, no matter who sells them, including the one Cummins sells.

Might be the same for the electric pumps...but I can't say for sure.

As it only runs for a little while when first turning key, would not have a problem with a Fass or other aftermarket unit.
