Title: GV windshield
Post by: Dub on May 14, 2018, 01:47:34 pm
I was quoted $700.00 for a drivers side windshield for my GV 280.. Has anyone done any better. I will put it in in my shop. Coach is a 89 U280 but I figure the 240 or other GV similar age will be close enough for price compare if you have bought a windshield. I find nothing using search.

On a car or two, we just carry liability insurance but for the U300, we have full coverage. A tree branch fell on the back bumper and engine door a few years ago. They paid over $3K with just a couple of photos I sent in. A broken windshield replacement will more than pay for a year's coverage.

A member of our flying club just had to make an emergency landing in the New Mexican desert. He was fine but the very expensive plane was badly damaged. No hull insurance so he sold it to a salvage company for next to nothing.

Same with us, we just use old beaters as toads anyway. We do have a rider that covers all the 'personal stuff' that our 'what you paid for it' policy doth not cover.  ^.^d

Mine was $700 + gasket + labor (done at FT) I think, yours should be bit cheaper or perhaps it is $700 installed. Did you call FT? When it comes to FT windshield I would start with FT.

That is from Foretravel. Parts said $700.00 minus the gasket. I don't believe he meant installed but if I go forward with it I will be sure of the details. I had 3 phone lines on hold in my office by the time I got off hold at Foretravel so I needed to move on.
