Title: Coach Air question.
Post by: Journey, Roam, Explore on June 01, 2018, 12:24:10 am
What is the capacity of the coach air system in terms of the CFM of the Engine powered air compressor and the capacity of the tanks? Could you run a air tool like a impact driver off it with the engine running ? How about a spray paint gun?
Will the 12 volt compressor run concurrently with the engine driven compressor if needed?

What CFM will I see if I use the bay air connection with the engine on and the tanks at 110 PSI?
Thanks,
Bob

Not really as the cfm is not enough.  I know some guys carried a small pancake but those will not take the wheels off the coach as you probably need 3/4 inch to do it. It will fill Jeep tires after airing down but coach tires take forever and you need to air the coach down and get the compressor running to get the tires topped off.

Bob,

1.The compressor should be ~13.5 CFM on your M-11
2. We run a 1/2" with no trouble
3. Should be able to never did though (think cost of fuel)
4. Really the 12VDC compressor is a seperate system due to valving
5. Never measured the exact flow rate at the air hose firtting.
6. Run the engine on high idle when using air for impact gun.

Thanks! What I was looking for. I have a Viair 400P-RV compressor the po left with the coach. Thought about using it hooked up to a seperate tank to use with a air stapler and perhaps take off the wheel if needed. Don't think that compressor is powerful enough though to do it. Then I remembered that the coach has a built in air supply... duh.  Thanks for the info!
