Title: Maxxfan Deluxe Questions
Post by: Jerry Whiteaker on June 04, 2018, 05:25:28 pm
I am thinking of replacing the Kool-O-Matic  kitchen fan and maybe the bath fan with the Maxxfan Deluxe.  Covers come in white or smoke.  I think the covers admit light, do they?  Also if you did this, did you remove the big sheet metal part on the roof or just cut out the fan shroud to give a 14 x 14 inch opening in the roof?  Any comments, white vs smoke, and manual vs remote control appreciated.  Thanks.

On my previous coach (a 1994 Bluebird BMC 37) I removed the entire Kool O Matic inside and on roof.  Same size framed in hole to place the Maxfann (14*14).  I bought the one with wireless remote control so I could mount it anywhere.  I had the white cover on mine, though usually I am partial to the smoke covers.  Smoke cover will admit more light than the white.

I used Dicor self leveling caulk during install and to seal off the old screw holes from the removed unit.

I did the remote in the toilet, about the time my backside hit the seat is when I remembered I needed to turn the fan on so I went with the remote.. purely because I cant remember until its to late

I do have a complete, good Kool O Matic  roof unit here.  Good rubbers.

I have done that too, many times.  Also we turn the kitchen kool-o-matic on when cooking and then forget to turn it off before sitting down to eat.  Anyone know if two Maxxfans with remotes would interfere with each other?
