Title: Air Leak, Leveling, and 12v Aux Air Compressor
Post by: Lance Camper on June 13, 2018, 01:55:17 pm
We been at our current campground in Western NC for about three weeks now. Beautiful area.

I noticed the coach was not level after a week or so. Started the engine to air up. Reset the HWH level system and all was good. A week later (today) it was not level again. Repeated the process.

Should I be concerned with an air leak that takes a week to bleed out?

Any trouble shooting advice for the 12v Aux Air compressor? I just assume that is what why the HWH system can not keep the air bags filled. I'm unfamiliar with the HWH so a little tutoring would help also.

Thanks in advance
Ed

Ed, your control panel should look like this.  With the ignition key on, engine running or not, press the button I marked in yellow once to go into manual leveling mode, twice to go into automatic leveling mode.  It will stay in either mode when you shut off the ignition.

In auto mode the HWH computer will check level every 30 min or so and make adjustments as needed.  Its first option is to release air on the high side.  Second option to achieve level is for the 12v compressor to come on and increase air to the low side.  The operation of the 12v compressor is controlled by pressure.

In manual mode with the ignition off you can adjust either side, front or rear with the up and down arrow keys around the coach image on the right.  To go to manual mode from auto mode, turn on the iignition key, press the off button and then quickly the level button once.

When we get somewhere I usually leave the system in manual mode. I have installed a switch to disable the compressor.  After several days one side or the other may be a bit low.  I let out some air on the opposite side.  Front to rear is more difficult because of the length. I don't worry about the level front to rear as much.  If you have an LP refrigerator then being close to level both ways is more important.  Your LP refrig has a level sensor in it that will show a level warning light on the panel if you are too far out of level.

With a slide the 12v compressor will come on to maintain pressure in the HWH air tank and the slide bladder.  The level system will use 12v compressor air when the leveling manifolds call for air.  This air does not come from the HWH tank assuming your check valves are working.

My aux ran very often and for 10 min.  Isaac at Infinity is only one who located the issue and now works the way it should.  Runs only when air is used and runs for most 90 seconds.

What did he do to correct it?
