I have searched and couldn't find the STEPS to drain the fresh water tank on my coach. I thought I had gravity drained the tank earlier but I didn't get all the water out.
Do you have to pump it all out with the pump, will that not over heat the pump?

How much water is left in the tank? Our low point drain is in the side of the tank and it will leave about an inch of water in the bottom. Other than opening the low point drain (which is real small for the job) there isn't any thing else we do to drain the fresh tank. If more than an inch of water you may have something plugging the low point drain line.

Lean the coach to the passenger's side (that is the direction on my coach) to put the drain point on the side of the tank as low as possible. That may be the best you are going to do. You can get a fitting for your fill hose that lets you hook an air line to it. With the fill valve open and low pressure (20 psi) you might be able to blow a bit more out. That is how we prep for winterizing, a bit of water left in the tank doesn't hurt as long as the lines are clear.
I must have not been clear. I am talking about draining the whole tank. I have been on campground water and have 20 or 30 gallons in the tank and I am wanting to drain it and put new in.
I have unhooked from city water, opened the valve under bath sink to tank but no water comes out the drain valve with the hot, cold, and fresh water drains. I turned on water pump to pump it out but nothing comes out and I let the pump run for several minutes and no water drains and I am afraid the pump will burn out,
I have only had the coach for 6 months and this is the first time I have tried to really drain the tank.
I hope this makes my problem clear.

There are three drain valves in the after compartment on the passenger side.. The fresh water tank drain is the front most I believe.
All I do is open the gravity drain and tilt the coach to the passenger side with the leveling system. That's about all you can do. Now with that said if no water comes out of the fresh water drain valve in the water pump/ hot water heater bay, I have had mine stop up with bug nest. Use a thin piece of wire to clear it out. Don't blow air in it, that will push trash into the water system. Also had the valve fail.

Mr. bbeane you are the winner it was a dirt dobber all the way up by the valve. I am glad it was closed no telling how far he would have gone.
I felt sure that it had to be something simple but I have a habit of starting with the hardest case and then work toward the simplest.
