Sorry your bladder failed.  Amazingly we are still on the original one.

Don't move the slide until you can see daylight at both upper corners and along the fron and rear vertical sides, this may take longer than it does for the yellow light to come on (in the 99-01 versions).

Keep the surfaces where the bladder seals against in the slide clean and waxed up.

You should never hear the pig squealing when moving the slide.  If you do you are dragging it along an insufficient ply deflated bladder.  Worst case spray the squealing area with soapy water.

Good luck with your new one.  They are supposed to be more heavy duty.  You might need to change other parts as well.

Prior to replacing the seals you need to check for delamination. 01 year vintage coaches have that as they used the wrong glue in making up the slide.  They have to pull the whole slide room to replace the bladder and that is the time to fix the delam. Don't just shoot glue in but cut it out and fix right. The shooting glue will fail and you will lose the bladder again. I would find someone who knows what to look for before you choose to get it fixed. The trip to Texas might be your best bet if it has delamination and it is painted.

The later hwh gasket is thinner all around and can expand farther to take up bigger gaps.

The originals were thicker on top and thin on the sides.

Most slideouts on SOB's including the the bluebirds I was shown had bigger more irregular gaps.

I wonder if the adhesive bond failures were later in the 2001 model year.  Lots of stuff changed through that year.  Mine was a very early 01 built in Dec of 2000.  We have no "delamination" issues on our slide but I have seen some on other coaches.

Dave's coach is 12 before mine, about two weeks at that time.

my coach is a 2000 and we had the slide delam problem on all surfaces due to glue melting away the foam at manufacture - solved by one of my NAC/Xtreme trips

Truline Highly recommended. Sent lots of work there when working for La mesa RV as inventory manager. Chad is a personal friend.I recommended Randall to them.
RnR in Spokane can do it, good luck getting in, and if you do, they will keep your coach forever. Was a service adviser there

When we were at Oregon Motorcoach last year, having chassis service there were three Foretravels in the shop having slide bladders replaced. They seemed to know exactly what they were doing.

Please recall, when our slide was pulled to replace the bladder, James Johnson pointed out the opportunity....and need...to reseal the fiberglass joint edge, which is best or perhaps only really accessible with the slide removed,

With regard to the new bladder, you will need also a new block to match up with the new bladder.

Thank You for your responses... I bought this coach , the  previous owners had replaced the carpet with a nice plank flooring .. Looks Good.. While retracting the slide I heard the  pump change tone, these slides are very fast as you know. I extended the slide and found it had picked up one of the boards, bent it in a U and there I was. With a small hand saw I was able to cut the board in half and finally extract it. Only to find it had Punctured the bladder... I glued the out side boards and stapled them.. They won't move again,  but kinda like closing the gate after the horse is gone.

Thank you for your responses, I appreciate your input, Spokane is the closest so I will call there first....

Let us know how that works out, Dave. I don't know who speaks 'Foretravel' up there anymore, but am curious.  ^.^d
I think a couple of forum members have had work done in Spokane, might PM Jerry at "BIGDOG'.

I replaced mine myself. Lots of fun. Worst part is getting the old tape off. I just pushed the slide inside the coach. The guys at Foretravel were impressed. I Do recall putting a few butt cheek dents in the side of Twig's truck trying to push it in because I had neglected to remove the wooden block on the bottom.

Very knowledgeable fellow, could do the seal, but so busy he doesn't want to tie up his shop right now.... I can see his point..... He tells me he only know of 3 or 4 Foretravels in Alberta... He has worked on this coach when the first owner had it.. I'm number 3 .... Be a happy day when I get all the repairs done ...

Take the trip to Oregon Motor Coach in Eugene Oregon. They have the experience and background you want. Plus no sales tax.

They will have a 50 amp hookup (electric, have to move coach around to dump or fill water) for you the evening before and evening after service.

On my 2001 320 you can not push in the slide you have to remove the slide from the coach to gain access to the seal and three years ago Oregon Motor Coach in Eugene Oregon could not do so in which resulted an trip to MOT. Maybe Oregon Motor Coach can do this repair today.

Hmmm Oregon Motorcoach -  call first!

maybe R and R RV in Spokane?

I had mine done at MOT and they also took it out at Xtreme when they fixed my delamination -on the 2000, same thing - it comes out, not poses in

OMC in Eugene removed my bedroom slide to replace the bladder, versus pushing it in (mainly due to tight space in bedroom with our floorplan).  (2003 U320)

When the living room  slide was done in Nac, it was pushed in.
