The motor mount handle assemble that raises the vent roof manually shattered when I tried to raise the vent to diagnose why the fan does not run. I was thinking that it might be the rain sensor. The vent is also controlled by a thermostat mounted on the wall. At this point I will just replace the vent with a new one and keep the fan motor for future use. I am looking for advice as to what vent I should order that will work with the thermostat shown below. Also showing a pic of the current vent.
That looks like a Fantastic powered vent, you can get parts for it or replace with a new one.
From my research there is switch that is prone to corrosion on the top that prevents the fan from operating until the cover gets to a certain height. Mine was working when I bought it, but has failed. On my to do list. I really like my white translucent multispeed maxxfan deluxe I used to replace my galley kool-amitic
I just upgraded mine to a new top of line Max Air with a 10-speed wireless controller, seems to work great.
On ours the track that the vent cover actuator lever raised the cover fatigued over the years and finally broke. I guess all the bouncing and wind buffeting fatigued the plastic. New cover with new track and fan worked great again.
