Title: Fuel Filter Plastic Bowl
Post by: jor on August 14, 2018, 05:30:32 pm
I want to replace the plastic water separator bowl on my fuel filter. I guess it's a Racor. I saw an old post where someone got a new bowl at NAPA but no part number. Anyone have a part number? Thanks.

Hmmmm.... it looks very similar. Mine, however, has a heating element and 12v wiring connected to a solenoid. Thanks.

jor,

If you have the R10 filter (that is what it looks like) you should look for  22616-02 (IIRC as we are away from the shop). Make sure that you get the 12 VDC as it comes in 24VDC.

Man, you're good, Mike! That's the one. Those little guys are pricey. Nothing wrong with mine but it's been on there a loooooong time. Thanks.

The one in your picture looks fine Jor.  They can be cleaned up nicely with Ulta Dawn liquid detergent.  Anything that's solvent based like brake clean can make the plastic milky enough that you won't be able to see inside.

Actually, a very good idea to have a spare.

Yes, rocks thrown up by the rear tires can crack it, particularly as they age.

And, having a spare means you have the new filter all set up and ready to do.  MUCH easier if you ever have to change it on the road.

Then just clean the old one and install it for the next "quick change".
