Title: Rosen Visor Mount
Post by: jor on August 16, 2018, 04:23:18 pm
OK, this is BIG. This rig, like most of the older ones came originally with a big TV cabinet up front. In order to clear that thing Foretravel installed a rink looking carpeted box and attached the Rosen visor to that block. The passenger side visor is attached directly to the underside of the cabinet. This is the kind of asymmetry I can't abide. Check it out. Told you it was big.

Jor,
LOL, being an anal engineer I felt the same way, now after a few years, I have accepted my fate on this one. I figured it would be like everything else..gonna cost me time, money and aggravation. Then again you may have stirred those feelings again...Thanks.

John

The '99 must have solved the issue.

No problem in 2003.

like Chuck I mounted my speakers on the little box and use the pull down shade when the sun is low.

Same here.  Those were the first things I removed from the coach.  The powered front shade works way better and the side shade works when needed.

Unlike you, some people place high value on Rosen shades.  You could probably sell them for a very good price here, or on Craigslist or eBay.

Ya, they went pretty fast when I offered them up for free here.

A powered front shade used to be illegal in some states.  Old bluebirds had a connection between a radar detector and their front shade.  If the detector went off the shade went up if partially down. The safety aspect was my understanding of why.  If the shade could block the drivers vision in a failure it was a ticket item.

No idea of current laws.  An illegal installation failure resulting in a crash would probably find the insurance company declining coverage?

Interesting to have current info as a see a lot of powered front shades here?

Beaver marquis powered front drape went across the windshield like the manual pleated Foretravel shades. Not down

Our 97's Rosen's are in the area right behind the windshield and I see the later model year coaches relocated them closer to the drivers and passenger seats for better coverage.

We drive west bound late afternoons a lot.  Going west to go home.  Into the sun

East driving folks in the afternoon do not notice the Rozens advantage as much I think

My powered front shades are oem, so presumable legal. My Rosen shades are still installed, but never used. The powered shades or a baseball cap work better.

Our white shade will not come down with the key on to block vision. The screen shade does

Many years ago, we removed both Rosen sun visors and gave them away. None are needed, and they sure got in the way.
