Title: I need two awnings.....
Post by: Michael & Jackie on September 12, 2018, 12:05:37 am
On our 01, the awnings have seen quite a few days in the sun.  It is time to replace the one over the slide and the similar size one on the passenger side.  Cloth is deteriorating, some pin holes and some that are wearing a bit more than that where it attaches to the coach.

I learned from Scott that MOT can make these, and the quote on the price seems reasonable.  Trina is ordering the fabric that she says well matches the original.  She has to use a special thread to avoid sun damage to the threads.  And of course the fabric it so suited.

Shall see how this works out.  But now that the decision is made that it is a necessary improvement, maintenance, I am anxious to see how it turns out.

I think the original thread was a V62.  Now they are using a V92 or a Teflon based thread.  They say the teflon based thread will outlast the umbrella awning material.

Enjoy your new awnings.  😊

Mike, they replaced the fabric on the big slide awning and it looks great.  I can't remember the price but it seemed reasonable.

Let us know how it turns out and cost. I can see doing the same in a couple of years.
