Recently while our coach was stored in our pole barn and connected to 50 amp power we experienced a severe electrical storm. The next day I discovered there was no power in the coach and found the 50 amp shore power breaker tripped. Once the breaker was reset, power was restored to the coach; however, there was no expected 15 second delay before connecting as is normal with the Progressive EMS and additionaly the EMS's remote display was blank. I found all systems normal in the coach and concluded the Progressive HC50C had done its job and sacrificed itself to protect the coach.
I e-mailed Progressive Industries and inquired about repair parts and was advised to fill out their online warranty claim form. As As I purchased the EMS in 2011 I thought warranty was very unlikely but submitted the form anyway. With the form they required an attachment with the purchase receipt and one with a picture of the inside of the HW50C. Shortly thereafter I received an e-mail stating that my claim had been approved and they were shipping me a new HW50C and I should just destroy the old unit. After installing the new EMS all is normal again. My experience tells me that Progressive Industries makes a fine product and provides great customer service,
Had the exact same expierence, but not in VA.
My Progressive unit came with my coach. It stopped working. I contacted Progressive and they told me they needed a receipt to cover it. I didn't unfortunately. I did buy a new unit and saved the receipt. :+)
They sent me a new relay in my unit because I complained about the hum, corrected the problem. Don't remember about having to produce a receipt, but I did register the unit online when it was new. Most warranties only cover the original owner, don't know how that is with Progressive.
I did hear that the receipt deal happened when the company changed hands. I also believe the warranty is non-transferable, like most warranties. I sure keep my receipt in a safe place! ^.^d
