Title: 1998 U320 brake part numbers

Thought I would post up the part numbers for the brake job I just had done two weeks ago. The front and rears are the same.


Wheel seal, Front-----------------------------------35066
Rotors--------------------------------------------------3218K167
Friction pad kit rear---------------------------------15625-PM
Slide pin bushing kit--------------------------------15010
Hub covers--------------------------------------------M2770
Wheel seal, rear-------------------------------------47697
Hub gasket-------------------------------------------11-14418-000

Did you have helper springs installed?  A good idea.

I told them several times to install those slide pin helper springs. I'll call and verify. Hopefully those are part of the rebuild kit. If they forgot. I'll raise a little hell and tell them they need to fix that.

Well Brett. I called and they verified that they did NOT install the helper springs. :facepalm:  They apologized and said they would look for those and get them installed. At which point I gave them the KIT15018 Meritor part number.

Slide pin helper springs are going in as I post this.

I can see how the mistake was made. The Meritor parts book from the supplier in Spokane does not list that part as an update/fix to a known issue. Seems Meritor used that air brake setup for only 2-3 years because of the slide pin issues. So the shop had never seen our coaches setup.
