Title: Difference between models?
Post by: WILDEBILL308 on October 20, 2018, 10:23:30 pm
This is my first post on this forum.
What are the major differences between 2005 U320 40' and a 2006 40' Phoenix?  I just don't see that much difference in the specks available to me but hoping I can tap into the knowledge hear.

Foretravel Specifications, Floor Plans, Photos & Brochures by Year (https://wiki.foreforums.com/doku.php?id=through_the_years:specs)

The 2005 was the last year of the U320's, pretty low volume.  2006 was the first year of the Phenix still fairly low volume but otherwise quite similar.  Looking at pictures, floorplans and lists of specs is a start.  You need to actually look at them in person to start seeing the differences.

Good luck on your hunt.

So it is more of a name change than a major design change?

Seems like they are a little taller and a few other changes.  I looked at at least one that had a pretty small fuel tank.  I really like the range of 180 gallons and we never go below 1/4 tank for several reasons.    I don't think there were a lot made which cuts down on selection in the used market.

Thanks for posting this for others who have not been on this site.  There is a wealth of information on this site!  If it isn't on here, it never existed!  Well, almost!  Fantastic job of collecting all kinds of information on Foretravel's from start to finish!

The first year of the Phenix was new front and rear caps and other things. More slides. More wt cpacity, less fuel, less fresh, gray and black.  I think a few years in it got taller and longer.  Ownership changed in that period, changed happened but not overnight.  It has been a while since I have seen one.  So mostly memory here.

There are going to be many more 2003s to choose from.

Bill,

Foretravels have "evolved" over the years.  There have not been a lot of big changes.  Like Rodger said you would do well to actually look at them.

Yes, that is the problem finding one each in a short enough time span you don't forget what you saw on the last one. I just looked at a 2005 U320 40' and wondered if there was a major change incorporated into the 2006 Phenix 40'.
Thanks for the help.

You can look at the coaches MOT have sold and see some of the differences between them.
