Title: Flashers
Post by: jelfert on October 23, 2018, 05:01:20 pm
Started up the motorhome today and the hazard and blinkers are not working. Changed one of the flash relays a year ago. Shouldn't there be voltage to the plug when the blinker or hazard flasher is on? I pulled the flash relay out and there is no voltage with blinkers on it off. Same wo H hazard flashers. Is there a fuse somewhere? All the lights work, they just won't blink or hazard flash.

There is a reset type fuse for the hazards. On my 97 it is #31.

Where is that? In the same panel? How is it reset?

Yea, it's in the same panel in front of the passenger but come to think of it it is probably not resettable. They don't go bad often and they are cheap and available at any auto parts store. The numbering starts at the top left.

What about the turn signal? Which number?

It's number 14. You should have this big 12volt schematic in your book. It and most of the others are available here. If neither the flashers or the signals are working this isn't likely the problem though. Sure it's not just a burned out bulb?

Have you replaced the flasher cans? There is one for the blinkers and one for the flashers.

Haven't replaced them yet. Just odd they both went out. Don't seem to be getting voltage to he socket where it plugs in.

I had to replace my steering column switch some years back when my flashers stopped working. The turn signals always worked though. Don't know if that could be an issue.

All of the The flashers may work through the turnsignal switch.
