Title: Couch lamp
Post by: Sven and Kristi on November 02, 2018, 02:50:26 pm
With all the more important issues I've been dealing with, the couch lamp is further down my list, but a recent post reminded me that I need to get around to it.
I have the standard brass looking lamp fixed on the small platform behind our J couch.  The problem is that it has been falling apart, and as much time as I've spent trying to fix it, it falls apart while under way.
Has anyone found a suitable 12 lamp to take its place?  I could also rewire a house lamp if I have to, but it would have to be a nice one.  The problem of course, is that to clear the wall, it needs to be on an articulated arm.

Check out West Marine, they have a nice collection of 12v lamps. I replaced several on my coaches. They used to have an online catalog.

Gustafson Lighting supplied the wall lamps to FT.  Their web site does not have a catalog - web site is being rebuilt.  574-522-0871  Connie Seniff was very helpful with my recent call.

Here's one of those niche industries that I couldn't find last December when I tried to replace the OEM "Map/Cocktail Table Lamp" from the '90s. I ended up in a snooty lamp shop(pe) that made the flat rate at MOT/FOT blush. ouch.

When you see our preserved  lamp, say something fairly complimentary if Kathleen is within earshot, please.

I took mine apart, painted it but some of the plastic is deteriorating. Plus getting a new shade had been a issue. So far its on the to do list to put it back together. But now I might just leave it off. Didn't like it anyway.....

If you find a residential light fixture you like, no need to rewire if you get a 12v Edison base or candelabra base lamp....

ONE RV 12 Volt Torch Style Oil Rub Bronze Wall Light Alabaster Glass Shade |... (https://www.ebay.com/itm/232747301712)

Cant remember exactly where I found mine but this is the same one

Actually this is the same lady I bought mine from.. whatever you decide to get.. the walls on the interior have a hard shell to get through and I bent a couple of the screws that came with them. Pre-drill maybe?
