Splendide went into error mode today with the red light flashing at 100mph. It was holding hostage a full load of cloths and the water was about half way up the door window.
This happened once before and Splendide tech support passed on this neat trick. Pull the drain hose and use a shop vac to suck out the water. Since we full time a shop vac is luxury item. I found this little 2.5 gal "Craftsman" vacuum on sale for $25 bucks and it's already paid for itself several times. :) Filled the vac 4 times before I couldn't get anymore water out. The Splendide is in the closet next to the washer. Unloaded a crap load of Mrs. D's shoes and disconnect the drain. Then held the vacuum hose around the drain and used my hand to close up the gaps. Worked great!
After getting the water out. I had to tip the washer back to get room to remove the pump cover. Put some towels down to pick up any water and unscrewed the pump cover. Found the shirt thingy in the pump. First time this happened it was a rubber band.
Put everything back together and works like a champ! WooHoo!

Ken,
Excellent MacGyver solution to draining the washer. And good detective work finding the shirt thingy. You might think about making the title to your thread a bit more descriptive, so that it will be easier to find in some future search. Surely this problem will bite some other Forum member some day down the road.
I'm open to suggestions. I'm a bourbon and a half in so anything I come with now would be PG-13 at least. :)
