I was given a foretraveler motorhome. I saw it and yes its not great but i can fix it up. I find out later theres no title, no keys, and he gave me til friday to move it but how? I need help here. Where can i get some info. I looked up the year he said it was but it also looks like other years. Help me somebody. I really want this motorhome but i dont even know who to call to tow it
Cici,
I'll do what I can to help. Can you post pictures? Do you have access to the coach?
Next to the drivers seat there should be a plate that will list the model, manufacturer, serial number, etc.
If you can post that, it will tell members of this forum what they need to help you.
You for sure will need a tow company that is experienced in moving large trucks or RV's. You may need to pull the axles in order to not damage the transmission.
Good Luck!
Len
And where are you.
There will be a metal plaque on the wall next to the driver's seat. It will have date built, model and VIN.
And, yes, pictures and location would allow us to be of more assistance.
BTW, the manufacturer is FORETRAVEL, not Foretraveler
"I was given a foretraveler motorhome" ^.^d Lucky!
As mentioned find the metal plaque under the driver side window.
Seems like I saw a link on this forum that concerned a seal kit for the rear end if the axles are removed for towing 'on the hook', but can't find it. I'm told heavy duty tow trucks have them for most rear ends.
Many states will allow registration and title with a statement of facts. Get as much information from whoever gave it to you and have them sign a gift receipt. How about some photos? Photo of engine and data plate next to driver's seat. Is it diesel or gasoline powered? A smart phone will be for photos. Pull axles and don't allow towing service to disconnect driveshaft. Too late to order axle caps for towing but tow company may have them onboard. Call to make sure before they arrive.

Are you talking about these:

Axle Caps (split from Going down highway and white smoke coming out) (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=20620)
No message from OP on the Foretravel " gift" he received.... wonder if the forum scared him off .. would like to know more of the details.
At least nobody here shouted "RUN! RUN AWAY! Run as fast and far as you can!"
...cuz that's what I was thinking...but bit my tongue.
I usually do think that same thing, but I sort of had a feeling that the OP knew there was 'something' about a Foretravel, and was prepared for what he was facing. He should have known, for sure, that THIS FORUM is where all the nutcases reside! ^.^d
I think CICI is a girl.
Guys (yes, and Gals),
How about we hold off on comments until we get more info from the OP.
My Ouija board ain't smart enough to know whether they have a "gem or junker".
Done my fair share of inspecting both!
.
Nope.........not me.......................don't think I could get away with that.......... 8)
Forgot about you guys.
Still no reply from the OP........
don't understand those who ask for help / advise and we never hear back from them.
The OP joined the day of the post. Not been on the forum since.
OK, guys.
Let's not UNwelcome him.
Hopefully he will come back and we can certainly help him if he does.
Lots of knowledge here-- he just has to ask.
I think it's great with so many guys chompin' at the bit to help him/her. Hopes he comes back.
If I were to hazard a guess I would say that Friday came and went, and so did the coach..
If the person comes back, lets be welcoming.. Many people are timid among strangers.
Especially THIS motley crew! ^.^d
I know when I first joined I was not being notified of reply's on my post until I figured out what the notify button. on a lot of sites that button is to notify admins about a questionable post.
I sent them a private message to come check in...guess it got lost in cyberspace
