Title: Foretravel Drawings - Large scale
Post by: Carol & Scott on November 09, 2018, 05:08:55 pm
There is a recent post where someone was talking about getting larger paper copies of the FT Drawings/Schemetacs by coach.

Checked with a number of FT personnel and ended up with James T.  He advised that larger drawings are not available but pdfs can be loaded on a thumb drive for a $50.00 fee.  I asked Braxton, who is becoming the Service Coordinator, and he had the drawings loaded on one of Carol's drives.  20 documents - all drawings that are in the Owners Manual and $45 because I am a Motorcade Member - no tax.

I downloaded the docs and Zoomed in.  I will no longer have to get out may magnifying glass to read the numbers and follow the lines.  :D

How big to you need them, have access to a large format printer up too 36" x any length. Try bluebeam Vue freeware Way better than Adobe.

An alternative is to get them blown up at a FedEx Office location (used to be Kinko's). It is surprisingly inexpensive. I followed Pierce's (I think) recommendation and had several of the common drawings enlarged and laminated. You can draw on the laminated material with an erasable marker.

I have as many of these as I have collected on my iPad.  The drawings go where I need them, zoom in as need.

It is important to know what your coach build n7mber is and determine if the drawing younare looking at is applicable.  For the 2001 U320s there are three different air system diagrams depending on build number.

Good Point Roger -

I have viewed the docs but do not know how to verify that they are the correct documents.  The docs I requested are supposed to be for our build number so I presume that they are correct.

I have no idea how FT controls documents or how I would verify their correctness,

In the label block there is a space for coach number. CN.  It will be some number and a dash.

The example here is 5920 -.  So it is effective for coach number 5920 until the next revision of the drawing comes out with a new dated drawing and coach build number on it.

That is some great info, Roger. Never knew that. I've always wondered why some drawings on coaches didn't seem an exact match to what I was seeing. Thanks.

2001 U320s have three different air schematics depending on build number.  It took me a while to figure out how to make sense of it.

If you have a 12v or 120v electrical or air drawing for your coach, share it member to member.  If a FT drawing is copyrighted (assume they are) you may not want to post it in its entirety.

Should anyone need a digital file of these let me know.  I wanted to post in a file on the Forum but did not succeed.  Send me your email address by PM.  Have the entire set for 97s 270, 295, 320.  I have found them to be invaluable.  Had them made at Fedex

I have also used digital to annotate all of our electrical changes.
