Sometimes I miss the old Safari, particularly when dealing with filters. I'm also experiencing fuel starvation and will begin my search with the plastic "pre-filter" O rings. Does it require any special O ring, aside from the fit? Are all rubber O rings diesel compliant?
I just changed my fuel filters yesterday and seeing the setup on your Safari makes me drool. My primary filter is relatively easy over the start batteries but the secondary, up high on side of the engine is a PIA to get to. Changed them in the summer and hopefully I am good now until summer again.
Best of luck with your O ring issue. ^.^d
Looks like we have the same set up.
I have the Cummins ISC engine, but similar set up. I have gone away from the O ring with plastic bowl filters and now use solid filters with drains and the port connection on the secondary filter. My reasoning is that I don't have any issues with O rings now (KISS) and if I start having issues with fuel starvation, I change filters. This seems like the simplest and easiest solution as I am full time and like the KISS plan. ^.^d
