Thanks

Thanks, I was about this low once before but it only took about 80 gallons.  I was 22 miles from the place I park.  I will go out tomorrow and finish unloading it and go fill it up as I may have to take it to FL as soon as this weekend for work.

Never want to see that light on.

Fuel gets pretty warm when tank is low, from hot returning fuel, not to mention running out because gauge is not perfect, or fuel is swished to one side.

Gen will not run with low fuel level, so keep that light off.

We have never seen it on in 20 years.

From my previous fill up from 1/4 tank I still had about 50-60 gallons left,  I will fill it tomorrow and note how many gallons it takes.  I dont thing the gauge is set right on the low end.

Mines comes on with about 30 gal left in the tank, especially it you take a long right turn.

Mine would come on just going straight for maybe 10 sec then come on in another 10 or  15 miles the same way.

Mine starts blinking with 60 gal left and turns solid at 50 gal.

Just a suggestion-- particularly this time of year when we have HUGE temperature swings-- FILL THE FUEL TANK BEFORE PARKING.

That will minimize condensation.  100 gallons of air from the last time you drove (say dew point 75 degrees F) will put a lot of water in the tank when temperature drops to freezing.  That is exactly what happened here in Texas in the last few days.

I would have but I was running out of time, I made it the meeting 15 minutes before it started.  At the meeting I found out I need to be in the FL panhandle Friday or Saturday,  with some quick calling around it looks like there are not camping/RV parks close that are open or have vacancies  :(

I did find that when I started it up today the gauge just barley came off E but all I could get in it was 98.7 gallons.  That put my mileage at 6.66 with most of the time running 60-65 pulling a old CJ5

The fuel is also a heat sink.  More is better.

I will from now on but this was just my 2nd fill up and I was trying to see just what the fuel gauge was doing.  Now I know it is no where close to accurate but it is on the safe side.

The replacement centeroid electronic fuel level sensor self calibrates and is very accurate

My fuel gauge will stay on over full forever. When it finally makes it to full it will start going down fast and the farther it drops the faster it falls.

Calibrate it.  Just takes a small screwdriver and someone in the driver's seat looking at gauge while you make TINY adjustments to the gauge on the tank.

Centroid has instructions on their website.

Mine was doing the almost full or full and sitting forever their and then drop fast.. then it got to where it wouldnt go past 3/4 full.

Tried adjusting ti.. held for a trip or 2 and then the same behavior.. Ordered a new auto adjust from Foretravel.. paid a bit more from them but in the end I knew it was correct and I have not had any issues.. 2 years ago

That is the way mine is doing, I did a short trip of 280 miles and it stayed on full, then the next trip it went from full to Empty in 380 miles but still had 40 gallons in the tank "LOL"
