Post by: Roger & Susan in Home2 on November 12, 2018, 08:17:09 pm
If a residential refrigerator is on your list of things to do then here is a popular one.
Samsung RF18HFENBSR ~18 cu ft refrigerator, countertop depth.  $1090.  About the same price at Home Depot and Lowes.

Samsung 17.5CuFt Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel (https://www.costco.com/Samsung-17.5CuFt-Counter-Depth-French-Door-Refrigerator-in-Stainless-Steel.product.100375981.html?langId=-1&krypto=LdT7cdQG75lB85g8M%2BmVwVOkbn%2F554IG4nV3mIoXzeTlUPhnFhKpFhf%2B1S1SyhSI1GP2L9jmqPtuCN1GmBv7KuG4B4h%2BND1bf%2BKzLJE2BMxEPpmO%2Bkc9%2BN5LMEDCmOeyIYKUZFGG7pIzoefqgqTKkTeB%2FmJHGF4YH2%2B6JwlDRTzCXQv%2Brrc7lNzSuLk%2BRkbGcBxGvVmPqnZU2iE2xapkBmhgitMMstug%2FzRqu2CdgnoZ6Izo0M632QYckRqmWLT3)

In case some members might wonder how to handle the logistics of getting a fridge installed at the factory, it's actually pretty simple.  We ordered our Samsung online from Home Depot, and specified the Foretravel factory as our delivery address, in care of David Flanagan.  The fridge came from the Lufkin HD store, and was delivered by truck to FOT, where they stuck it away in a corner until our coach showed up for the installation appointment.  EASY!

Or you can DIY as many have done.  Lots of help here for those willing to give it a go.

Roger, depending on the year of the coach, vs the front door opening, can you get the 18 or 20 counter depth through the door by removing the fridge doors?  I forget which year that Foretravel enlarged their entrance door.

Joe '97 was first year of the wider doors.

I got a counter depth Bosch through the narrow 95 door by removing the fridge doors and the grab handle next to the front door.

Juice...

It is possible to get the refrigerators in and out through the door.  Remember you have to get the old one out as well and it is twice the weight.  Most trying the door route have had to remove the front pass seat as well as the doors and internal parts of both refrigerators.

Taking a side window out seemed much easier to me and dramatically reduced the risk of inadvertantly damaging the dash or some other part of the coach.

Like so many projects on your coach think it theough step by step.  What is it going to take to do each part? What equipment? How many helpers?  When it is very clear in your mind how it is going to work making it happen is much easier.  You won't be scrambling around looking for a way to do something you didn't consider.  Nobody will get hurt because you don't have the help you need. Good planning always makes for a better outcome.

Thanks, Roger and to all who responded!  The window does make more sense!

Replace the gooey sealant around the window with a rubber gasket.  I got mine at Xtreme a few years ago for 50ยข a foot.  Probably more now.
