Title: Hydraulic Fluid Change
Post by: djpauls on November 26, 2018, 02:26:49 pm
Hi All,

I had my hydraulic fluid and filter changed.  I specified 10w-40 as recommended.

After reviewing the bill, called for clarification and found out that they flushed and filled the system with Valvoline Blue 15w-40.  They agreed to flush and fill with proper oil but that would mean pulling out of storage and spend 2 hours on the road in potentially icy/snowy conditions.

They said to bring It back in the spring.

I will be driving from Michigan to Florida and back February to April.

Thoughts?

I would ask James Triana at Foretravel.

But, I suspect you are just fine-- no need to do anything but drive it.

It will have the viscosity of 15W when cold instead of 10W and the viscosity of SAE 40 when hot with either.

Has to be better than the old oil.

No problem, no worry, will be just fine.
