Title: Dometic fridge drain problem.
Post by: Mike Leary (RIP) on December 03, 2018, 03:06:35 pm
Went to defrost today, moved the drain line and the line snapped, appears it just dried out and is brittle as all get out. I found where the PO had taped it to no avail. Other than pulling the fridge (NOT), I'm thinking of getting a old piece of hose and slipping it in over the existing junk. Any other ideas?  :headwall:

Mike,

Quite likely you can go in from the roof (4 screws and a screen to pull back and reattach) and reach the upper attachment point for the hose.

Good thought, It looks like it's just a insert fitting; jus' a little tight of a space to reach up from below. I'll do some more checking, but this looks like what I need (with a lot for the future left over)! Glad I saved the drain plug!

You could also go with a lot higher quality hose.  Just have to verify it is OK for the temperatures of the cooing unit.

I'd thought of a heavier hose, but the fridge was installed in '09; that's not too bad for the  stock hose considering it's lived in the dry climes most of the time.  ^.^d
