We had the headlight conversion on our U320 2001 coach 10 years ago from Xtreme and have been very happy with the headlight improvement. This past month when driving at night- both headlights will go out for about 5 minutes then come back on- stay on for about 15 mins then repeat. Does not appear to be a short as bumps when traveling - or turning them on then off does not resolve the issue. All other lights continue to work. Any suggestions on where to start?

Sounds like a breaker tripping and resetting itself. Replace it and see if this corrects it-- in front of the panel in front of the passenger's front seat.
At least that is where I would start.
Brett beat me to the post button but to add to what he has, your lights and clearance lights are on 2 different breakers. seems like they are #36 and 38 on your age coach. If it was the headlight driver it would be just one light as the ones that I have seen each headlight has it's own driver/transformer.

The clearance lights stay on and yes both of the headlights go off and on at the same time---is there a ballast that controls both?

The ones I know of has 1 ballast/driver for each light. Yours could be different as there are several different set ups that have been used over the years.

Call James or his guys. They can figure it out, Quickly. They mess with their stuff all week long.
Again, suggest you locate the breaker that powers them. They are NOT expensive or difficult to replace.
I am not normally a "replace a part" to diagnose, but you can either do that or have a voltmeter handy the next time this happens and check for power OUT of the breaker.
Find your smart wheel controller. Mine is under the false floor under the cabinet in the center of the dash. Check wires 101 and 225 at connector p12. Both wires and the p12 connector were fried. New controller fixed it. About $250 from FOT. Manufacturer will sell it, probably cheaper.
If you need to replace the controller, don't forget to order a new connector for the wires. Had to fake it as none available in Laredo and we were crossing into Mexico that weekend
Breaker was good so talked with Alton at FT and he also thought it was the smart wheel controller- talked with parts dept and they have an upgraded controller replacement 262$ + new connectors - they suggested I check the connectors and pins to see if loose then if OK guess replacing the module is my next step.
