Title: Tire damage
Post by: Ted & Karen on December 11, 2018, 05:37:05 pm
I found a damaged sidewall on right rear tire that is getting worse with age.  I decided to replace it with on of the fronts and put on 2 new steer tires.  FS591 Firestones.

Check your tires for issues - might keep you from having a blowout.

Any clue how many miles on the trashed tire?

The bad tire had 40-50K miles on it, but was only on the coach 4.5 years.  I usually run my tires 7 years unless something like this happens.            ^.^d

Just replaced my 9 year old tires. I don't recommend waiting that long!

Went with General Tires RA 16-ply load range H.

Another cheapskate (like me)! What brand were the previous? I KNOW what kind of weight Agnes carries: do you have her weighed before new tires?

The old tires were Chinese made Roadmasters "Engineered by Cooper". They held up very well to a very hard life. :)

Big Agnes isn't overweight she's just big boned.
