Well it looks like a delay to Q...sad
Getting things going, no turn signals... emergency flashers work.
I replaced the dash "turn" fuze hoping it was that easy... no luck.. no turn lights
Does the emergency flasher relay double for the turn signals, or does it have a seperate one..oh and where is it?
Any help is appreciated.
Don't recall on our U280 but on the U320 both flashers are behind the panel by the steps where all the relays and circuit breakers are located. They are interchangeable as I recall. U280 probably under the dash panel somewhere.
Rick, so do you think it's the flasher relay? Since the flashers work.. so there ar 2 flasher relays?
Not sure if this is your problem or if you have similar wiring, however this is what fixed mine on my 1997, from a previous post of mine, with inoperable turn signals.
"Checked the breakers mid coach in the basement bay behind the approx 12"x12" fiberglass cover, and found a loose nut and washer going to red wire on breaker marked Dash Memory 30A, I assume this was the issue. I also found a loose nut on breaker marked LP Leak Detector 10A, fixed that, also was worth finding. Tightened both and flashers and turn signals now work fine."
Jack.. I will check.
Pretty sure I had a dead short from my tow dolly... I replaced fuze under dash, that was blown
Jack, was that a reset able breaker?
John,
According to my wiring diagram, there
are two flashers. The HAZARD flasher is powered off the HAZ FLASH 20A fuse. The TURN flasher is powered off the TURN 15A fuse. On our coach, both fuses are in the fuse block under the lift-up dash cover in front of the driver. I
assume both flashers are also located in that general vicinity, although I have not actually tried to locate both of them on our coach.
If your HAZARD switch works, and the turn light bulbs flash, then I think that eliminates any problem with the bulbs and wiring to the bulbs. You have replaced the TURN fuse, so it should be good. Next item I would investigate is the TURN flasher. You just need to find it! All I can suggest is get a flashlight and poke around under the dash cover until it becomes evident.
If you can find both flasher units, and they are the same configuration, you could try swapping them. See if that "fixes" your turn signals.
Good luck!
Chuck, that's my thought too.. confirmed there are 2.. now just finding it in the mess of wires.
Hope with sunshine today I can see it.
Thanks ^.^d
Had this same problem a while back on my 96. The turn flasher had fell out of it's plug...found it lying on the floor. Mine was hanging "upside down" in the loom of wires (and had been since new)...it's sheer weight had eventually caused it to fall out of it's plug. My flasher is HEAVY, not the normal light flasher one usually thinks of....
I plugged it back in and ran a small wire tie around flasher and plug, so that won't happen again....don't know if this could be your problem or not, but worth a look.

I located the correct flasher from the wire number on the diagram. Not at the coach now but it was pretty clear. I think it was a white wire. If the flashers work you can probably just switch the flashers until you get somewhere to pick up one. They are most likely right together. You may have to look underneath the dash on that U-280. Mine were not mounted but were both loose hanging on the wire.
On my diagram, the HAZARD flasher is connected to 2 BL (blue?) wires. The TURN flasher has 2 RD (red) wires. Don't know if that helps...
Ralph, Rick and Chuck..
Thanks, the flasher unit did fall off. Then thanks to Chuck describing location perfectly, plugged it in, turned on the key, hit the turn signals ^.^d

Glad to hear this was a simple fix...these flashers falling out must just be an Illinois thing...... :))
