Where's everybody buying replacement compartment struts for the old buses? Last time I got some Foretravel had the best price? Tired of the front left compartment door lacerating my scalp.

They are still the cheapest at Foretravel.
About four months ago, Barry and Cathy, and I , posted info about Hatchlift.com in the Denver area. I posted his price list. I believe that his price to forum members were very competitive. Contact name is Garry. Mention my name and Foreforum.
What pressure are the hinged compartment side doors? Are the smaller doors and largest door use the same psi?
Does anyone know what the correct pressure struts for the bed lift should be?
I replaced these recently with new ones the same as what was on the bed platform but the new ones aren't strong enough.
I seem to think they are 80lbs but will go check mine in an hour or so if no one has given a definite answer

Gary, at Hatchlift Products, 303-901-8150, sent me a few struts to test out on our cabinets above the bed. We found that we liked the 20# struts best. He offered Foretravel Owners a discount, which gets better with quantity ordered. I had posted the rates a while back, and can't seem to locate them now. Just call him. Nice guy. Mention my name. No....I don't get a kickback ....
He also has struts to fit ALL the FT applications. You would have to determine the length, pin to pin, and the strength ( he can help you ). I have had great service with this company.
They are readily available on ebay also. Search "20 inch 80 lbs Gas Props Lift Spring Rod Struts".

For the big doors FOT spec'd 90# struts 40# for small doors. I'm going with 80# for the big doors so there is not as much stress on the door.

I found a pt number. Springlift 61 25 30. That is oem # as mine are original.

This is what I used but they are too weak, I can barely lift the bed myself with these.
ATT-SL25-30-1 Attwood Gas Spring 26"X16"C30# 10mm #SL25-30-1
Edit: these were what was on the coach when I bought it.
I went with 190 pound struts for bed on my 98 u270. I think 160 or 175 would have been fine. Mattress has 3" foam topper that adds some weight. I can now lift it without a back brace or prop to keep it up. Still prop when sticking my head in there to work. My local mechanic said original struts were on the light side. New struts been on for two years. I take care to push it down slowly, hands apart and making sure pressure is even side to side. Also had to replace hinge as it failed. Went with heavier hinge. All this after bed attacked me one day throwing me up against back wall with sudden failure of hinge.
I ended up getting them from Foretravel. Here's the deal:
SMALL (30"): $14.38 (40#)
LARGE (48"): $14.38 (70#)
INTERIOR: $ 9.85 (15#)
The stock 30" was 35# and is now 40#. 10% for Motorcade.
