Have a friend looking at a coach with 110K miles and 2900 hrs seems off with the average being (my math) 38 miles per hour.
Any averages mph out there..???
Thx
Hans
137,564 miles 3,092.6 hours
43.87 average and I spend a LOT of my highway miles at 70-80 MPH. I have owned Coach last 70,000 miles, I would say math on that coach reflects average driver who likes 60-65 on highway

132,734 miles per 2912 hours gives me 45.58 mph average. I do not usually drive especially fast on the highways. I have a governor that limits me to a max of 62 mph, the governor sits in the passenger seat.
Current: 171.439 on the dash. Hrs. in the stern: 4115. I drive fast, but the bulk of the numbers are from Brett, who, I think, put on a lot of the mileage in Mexico. ^.^d
39 miles per engine hour, ouch.
Think some of these guys just idle more, they see these truckers idling at the rest areas while sleeping and think it does'nt cause
any harm, like the guy at Walmart too proud to shop with his wife idling with the AC on when it's 65 outside but he has "du chip"
so it's OK.
My coach has a 3126B caterpillar That I normally run at 62 to 65 on highway. It now has 192,736 miles with 3855:15 hours, don't Idle except to warm up and to cool after long run. ^.^d ^.^d ^.^d

I have the same governor that Jan does at 62 mph. 55 mph speed limit in much of Oregon where we drive a bunch. Elsewhere it's 55 to 62 average by the " governor " cause " we're retired and not in a hurry".
Average miles versus hours is 42.03.
Seems valid to me. I have been tracking both values since our ownership 18 years and 73,000 mile ago. We gave up interstate driving after the first year and use mostly "blue highways" for the pace and intimacy. Of course this affects the efficiency ratio....
This is called Wifeee Governor, Not so much if at all in Coach but in the boat is goes off all the time.
Our average is 51. 118k รท2300 hrs

Drive the east coast and you are going to be in that range. Heck at time I95 is backed up from Baltimore to Richmond on beach weekends and 20 mph is about the best you can do.
Good question. 150k miles, 3547 hours. Looks like 42mph. Eek
Interesting about the alternative governor. It's understand it's possible with an electronic dash to change the signal multiplying factors to correct/alter the speed readout to indicate whatever you would like it to show for whatever reasons you might need.
Nice idea but...... In my case the governor is also the navigator. I am not sure how to get a GPS to fudge the ground speed readout.
Ah the separate problem with a gps. I have found that our U320 at 36,000 pounds seems to get almost exactly the same mpg at 65 versus 70. Yes I know the wind resistance is increased,
Looks to me that the 3:91 rear gears and the m11 in my case and in your case your ISM gets better mpg at the slightly increased rpm. At least enough to mostly compensate for the increased wind resistance.
Seems the Fores may have tested their setups to allow the mpg to be a flatter line from low to high 60's mph.
i Am not saying that our coach gets the exact same mpg at 65 versus 70 but it's extremely close.
This supposes your navigator is being frugal. Mine trusts me. We are in the west where long drives on flatter ground are normal.
If not frugality then disregard my comments.
We were spoiled as our 300 hp cat oreds got 8 mpg wide open and 10 at 75.
Our 97 has averaged 8.2 mpg for the last 12k Miles. Used as hard as needed in the mountains.
I thought that was pretty good.
Our former coaches owner copilot wanted him to drive the speed necessary to get 10mpg on flat ground on the VPMS.
that's 60 max. In so cal someone would shoot rubber arrows all over your coach at 60 in traffic.
Weaving in and out of the truck lanes I feel is more dangerous than an increased speed and staying in the second lane
Got an 300 hp cat ORED, performance is awesome. Tickled pink, and I think there's another easy 4-6% improvement in that motors external exhaust and intake systems. Front suspension dampening could use some work, buts it's simply making a new pair of lower shock brackets (relocated to below the track arms) and moving the upper bracket forward a few inches and drilling new holes. This would allow the dampners to actually stroke a great deal more during suspension movement.
Love to see your coach again. Will be in the Midwest at Easter. Where in Kansas are you?
3751 hrs for 143.145 miles
At about 10 mpg
Lets have a miles vs engine hour discussion!

146000 miles
3350 hrs
Our 1995 U320 at about 190,000 miles has averaged about 49 miles per engine hour.
My dash says 11,737 miles, and 1218 hours!
Both the tach and speedo have been replaced.
On 2/11/21, an ECU read showed 151,975 miles, 3210 hours, and 7.7 MPG.
