Title: washer nipple
Post by: GleamB on January 31, 2019, 12:44:38 pm
The nipple that come out of the coach, to which the hose that sprays washer fluid, has broken off. I have tried, now twice, to super glue it back together.
THE QUESTION IS : 1) where would I get a replacement ?
                                  2) what is it called ?
                                  3) will it be something I can easily replace, or will I encounter a " surprise " when I pry out the old piece?

Thanks

I would think that is part of the plastic casting and cannot be pulled out. There is a link somewhere on forum to all things wiper concerned but could not find it yet. It is removed from inside I believe so not too easy on the road.
If you are still parked in Mazatlan then not too bad as you have the time to get at it and re-glue it.Super glue should work temporally but you must have it clean and lined up perfectly.

Glenn,

There is a nut on the back side that is a pain to get to.  You can't just pry it off from the front.  It is almost easier to remove the dash to get to the one that is on the drivers side.  If the passengers side you will have to loosen the breaker panel to get your hand back there to remove the lock nut.

Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling that it was going to be a major pain for a minor problem. Oh well........

This is where I bought mine, new arms with hose and new metal nipples.

 Search results for "Wiper%20arms" (http://www.buspartswarehouse.com/search?keywords=Wiper%20arms)

I've had good results using Plast-Aid to repair plastic parts.  But never used it on parts that will be exposed to the sun so not sure about using it on this.  Worth a try if you can't find anything else.

Try partdeal.com
I think this is what you're looking for.
I just did my drivers side yesterday, I used JB weld, put the appropriate drill bit through the metal barb piece and into the plastic nut part to keep them alainged when you glue it. Make sure both pieces are clean first!

Like John H said, not the easiest job to do if you elect to remove the piece from the front cap. Drivers side, you must remove the top dash piece. The nut takes a 1/4 " socket. Have to do it by feel only.
