Title: Gas shock for 2003 U320 Entry Door
Post by: Robert Cade on February 01, 2019, 11:15:47 am
Has anyone installed a gas shock on a 2003 vintage U320 Entry Door.  My 'door catch (open position)' is evidently stripped & no longer holds the door open.  Rather than remove the door frame to repair / replace the catch, I thought possibly a gas shock on the entry door would be a suitable or better alternative. If anyone has done that, what brand of shock, length, force & bracket attachment should be used. And a picture would be helpful.

Robert,

Have you checked the latching dog on the top of the door to see if it is just bent?  It can be straightened out without removing.

They are easy to replace if you want. No need to remove the door frame. They have a newer style one as well .
