Title: My Step Cover Stopped Working.
Post by: jam4travel on February 16, 2019, 09:34:01 am
I need some help.  I just purchased a used 2007 Foretravel Nimbus 36'.  This my first Foretravel Motorhome, so I have a lot to learn-its hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

Well, just until this morning my step cover worked fine, (I've only had the coach 5 days-so I haven't used the step cover much).  Any suggestions for trouble shooting the problem?

Thanks,

Do you have air pressure?  I assume the nimbus step works like other FT's, off of the air tanks.

When you say it doesn't work, what exactly does it do?  Nothing?  No sounds or movement at all?

Step cover on mine is air operated, so you will need to start engine to build air for that to work Step covers are pretty well known for leaks in my 2000, I just disabled step cover since we never used it

Thanks, Tim and all others.  I though the step cover would work like the self leveling system.  But you have to build up air pressure with the engine running-so now it works.

When the air pressure is gone you can close and open the step cover by hand. I close mine if it is in storage so that rain will not get into it. Water will fill up the fiberglass part with it open. You can also open and close the step slide also.
