Before and after. Was not hard just time consuming.
Nice job. That is what they should look like!
Lookin' Good! If it works like our neighborhood, every male dog in 20 mile radius will stop by tonight to anoint your shiny wheels.
Chuck,
Were you in Texas, we would say: "THAT AIN'T RITE".
A smile back at ya'. When I do ours, the tires get a coat of that great product; 'No touch', that I've used for years. ^.^d
SMH. Taint Rite!
Ken come do mine ^.^d Good Job Buddy!!
Looks good, what did you use to do it? Elbow grease or a buffer?
Here are mine---30 years old.
Buffing wheel. Mother's Mag & Aluminum
Wheel Polish. Turtle Wax Ice.
Can you provide a photo of the buffing wheel you used to get in the tight places and small round holes?
With my setup buffer and wheel are too big/bulky.......... guess there is always elbow grease ::)
Mother's Powerball Mini works great around the lug nut covers and in the holes. I use a cheap (corded) variable speed drill from Harbor Freight.
Amazon.com: Mothers 05141 PowerBall Mini Metal Polishing Tool: Automotive (https://www.amazon.com/Mothers-05140-PowerBall-Metal-Polishing/dp/B000ELQO50?th=1)
3/8 in. Variable Speed Reversible Drill (https://www.harborfreight.com/38-in-variable-speed-reversible-drill-60614.html) (3000 rpm high speed)
Maybe it's cause I'm lazy or perhaps cheap, but I just let the guy in Eloy Az do it. $5.00 each for the wheels and $15.00 for the mirrors.
I use what Chuck said. The red Mother's Powerball.
Also a bit of "elbow grease" and an applicator sponge.
I had Jaime in PP do mine when he washed/waxed/polished my wheels for $120. Much less work for me and they did a better job than I would.
I used mothers mag and aluminum polish. Cheap at Walmart. Used mothers mini ball on rear cause the bigger pad that i used would not fit all the way. The bigger buffer was from mothers nulens kit. Drill was a cordless with several batteries being rotated.
I'd not bother to shine the wheels (and work on low areas) without this stool! ^.^d
Mike, I've never seen an air powered stool. NIce :D
Larry
I use a foam cone. The pointy end gets in the tight spots better.

Dammit. You guys got me started . I had a less perfect wheel on the front when I got this. So I swapped it with the inner unpolished wheel. That means that I now have 2 unpolished faces. Lots of time with the scuff pads and polish, and a couple of hrs today and one looks fair. I even ordered some nut covers.
Next to remove the paint on my bumpers. But that looks to be after about 12hrs polish time.
Hey Larry, maybe he meant a methane powered stool? :))
Is that what that hose if for
I thought I read somewhere that Alcoa wants us to use "water only" on the wheels.
Or was I mistaken??.....
Totally dp
Totally depends on whether the wheels are raw aluminum or coated/Dura-bright.
If dura-bright: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MPveLjZXug
If not dura-bright: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVI9vewk8LM
If in doubt about what you have, call Alcoa with your wheel PN.
Mike Id call this guy down there and see if he would shine them for you

HTH,

Stopped in Eloy (AZ) again to get my wheels and mirrors tuned up , so to speak. He polished them last year so they weren't to bad yet, but they polish and wax them up for you at $5.00 a wheel. Can't go wrong at that rate. $15.00 for the mirrors.
Bob, we are headed out there in a couple of weeks. Where do I find that guy?
For that price, I will wait till this fall when I hope to get to Az. Please tell the contact info.
