Was chatting with a fellow Fofum member and discussing our Bulkhead repair I opened our wet bay and saw water pooling under our power and water hose reels. Finished the chat and sat for a while then decided to look closer. Long story short I found the leak coming from a corroded pressure valve in the toilet supply line. The leak was above the floor behind the toilet. Used the maniblock to shut off the water to the toilet took a closer look and saw the green corrosion. Felt the connection and it was wet.
Shark Bites to the rescue. Went to Lowes and got a check valve and a couple of other pieces and was able to replace the assembly. No leaks yet. From beginning to end it took about 3 hours. I now have and extra check valve to add to my collection of Shark Bites.
Thanks again to Roland for introducing me to them a number of years ago. ^.^d
PS...We now have about 3 times amount of water coming into the bowl and swirling around. ;D
Shark bites are the bomb! Use them every day!
Did this leak result in any bulkhead damage?
Don't think so. We had bulkhead repair done at MOT 2 years ago.
I replumbed our entire house in Mammoth Lakes with PEX and sharkbite fittings several years ago. No more brown stinking water and it is really resistant to cold weather.
