Best lube for updated slide out style steps?
We have the after market slide out style double steps. I have been using silicone spray lube once in a while. Would white lithium or another lube be better?
Dan, why don't you think the silicone is working. If it's not lubricating then you might try this;
Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant, Aerosol Can, 12 Oz. TF200271 | Zoro.com (https://www.zoro.com/tri-flow-superior-lubricant-aerosol-can-12-oz-tf200271/i/G1846397/#specifications)
The Zoro price is about 1/2 of what Amazon charges.
I find the grease really gets gritty because it seems to be subject to road dust ... Maybe your coach doesn't have a dust, dirt problem.. mine sure does .. Silicon works for me !
Safe travels,
Dave
We use a dry lube like this.
Amazon.com : DuPont Teflon Non-Stick Dry-Film Lubricant Aerosol Spray, 10... (https://amazon.com/dp/B003UTX0R8/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B003UTX0R8&pd_rd_w=reA4a&pf_rd_p=733540df-430d-45cd-9525-21bc15b0e6cc&pd_rd_wg=A7AWv&pf_rd_r=CY75K102R444W7PW75FR&pd_rd_r=bf0d930d-43b5-11e9-b197-d350cce83b8b)
Rance suggested a dry lube of this type. there are lots of choices. Keep the tracks clean, lube every couple weeks.
I got a green grass like door mat at WalMart and cut it to fit on the back side of the steps and in front of the pass side front tire. I attached it with several HD zip ties. It has been there for four years now and dramatically reduces the road grit that gets on the steps.
