Just curious what everyone recommends for a road side assistant service that will be good from Florida to Alaska through Canada

Coach Net. Excellent investment. Don't leave home without it.

I'd be curious: do they have a 'limit' how far they'll come for assistance, and (gasp), should you need a 'lowboy', is that covered?

Good Sam, used it and service was as good as possible. They even paid a big tow bill 3 months after the fact and I had not contacted them for a tow when was needed.
Their rules said they would only cover tows that are directed thru them at the time,  just the same wording as Coach net,  but G Sam came thru with a chq. This is a fact.

Mike, in that instance I got the best low boy unit you could imagine. It is a marvel to watch the  hydraulics drop that deck to flat floor level then pick up deck with coach on it. Driver told me it cost $700k but saves him money every time.
Drove from south of Tucson on 19 hwy back to Cummins west of Phx at exit 99 at up to 70mph and us behind in car and  coach looked fine.

Here is what it says in the list of Coach-Net benefits.  Does not state who will tow, or with what.  It's pot luck.  We have Coach-Net, and same as with all my "insurance" policies, I'd be a very happy camper if I never need to call them or use the coverage.  For me, towing is last resort.

UNLIMITED TOWING
No mileage or dollar amount limits – no out of pocket expense when towing your disabled vehicle to the nearest qualified repair facility.

I have towing  & roadside assistance on my Foremost policy: it's sort of CS, as it says, "$250 each disablement" !  I'm going to check with Coach Net, thanks, all!  ^.^d

Coach-net for us. Unfortunately we have had to use them twice. Both times Coach-net was very helpful and no questions asked. $1,700 tow bill the first time and not a whimper was heard from coach-net.

Superb peace of mind for not much money.  ^.^d  ^.^d

Oh man! You want me to remember something?  :o
It was in the $200 dollar range per annum.

I renewed my coach net last year, they wanted $239. Told them I could not afford it, and they said they have a $99 plan that only covers the coach. I said fine as towd is covered by it own insurance for towing

Agree with Jim C.  They don't advertise it, but Coach-Net has a $99 "Basic" plan available to anyone who asks for it.  That's what we are on.  Just the coach is covered, but otherwise mostly the same benefits as the high priced spread.  I copied the BASIC plan benefit guide from the member site in case anyone is interested:

The Coach Net Basic plan is what we have and it works well for us. Seems to be fairly cheap "insurance" against something that can happen from time to time.

$69/year. We bought multiple years at one time.

I bought 5 years of coachnet service through my insurance broker a few years ago.  The premium plan was cheap (I think under $100 a year).

We are FMCA members now and had their service back in 2000 when we full timed.  Never used it, but wonder how they compare with Coach Net?  Need to purchase some before we hit the road again!

Road side assistance is a common topic around here.  A quick search on the Forum turned up several hits, including:

Thanks Chuck for the link;  however, I believe now FMCA has no age limit and they seem to offer the same coverage as Coach Net for a few bucks less.  Will do more research, but since we are FMCA members, will most likely pick their road side policy up.  They also have a deal on Verizon hot spot, unlimited for $49 a month plus taxes.  Of course, after I believe 25 Gigs, it gets throttled somewhat!  Will check with our local Verizon store and see if this is a good deal through FMCA as well.

Here is where to get the straight poop on all the wonderful "unlimited" hotspot plans (which are not always what they seem to be):
