Title: Great ---- No water in the fuel
Post by: fkjohns6083 on April 02, 2019, 08:06:39 pm
Replaced the fuel filter and the fuel/water separator/filter and was happy to see that there was no water in the fuel/water separator.  I use  "diesel kleen" and put in a couple jugs of "heet" on a regular basis and they seem to be doing the job.  Just posting this for info  ----  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

We use Diesel Kleen also,it may be part of the difference between a million mile engine and one needing an overhaul.

Seems like what you are doing is working for you. I did have 6 cans of Heet freeze in the can years ago in North Dakota but the wind chill was -75.. We use straight Methanol in the truck fleet  every fall to "dry" out the systems and it has helped with freeze ups.. We use 1 cup per 200 gal of fuel. Heet may have methanol in it I don't know because I haven't bought any since the freeze issue. I do know you are unlikely to experience the cold I mentioned above and I don't plan to either. I was working then and had to be in the Dakotas. Also realize you aren"t talking about freeze ups either but water does play into freeze ups.. Of course any one of us is one fill up away from buying a load of watered fuel. All we can do is keep the fuel tanks full to help with condensation and every so often add what ever addative makes us feel good. I think FPPF fuel treatment is mostly methanol. Not trying to win you over to any one product just relaying my experience with Heet in 1976.. Heet was about all that was available back then. Glad your fuel system is clean for the time being, that makes a happy camper.
